VERSUS 4 fun

Privacy policy

We collect as little as a public voting site can. This page lists every piece of data the product writes down.

No accounts, no personal profile

VERSUS4 has no user accounts. You can vote without signing up, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other identifying detail.

What is stored when you vote

  • The poll and the option you picked.
  • A random visitor identifier held in a cookie in your browser.
  • A one way hash of your IP address, salted with a secret we hold. The original address is never written to our database.
  • The two letter country code that Cloudflare reports for the request, used for country level breakdowns.
  • The patch the game was on when you voted, so historical results stay tied to the right version.
  • The time of the vote.

Why the hash exists

A random visitor identifier is stored in your browser and a one way hash of your IP address is stored with each vote. Both exist for one reason: stopping the same person or bot from voting on the same question many times.

Analytics

We count events such as poll views, completed votes, share clicks and outbound clicks. These records carry the same hashed visitor identifier and no personal data.

We do not use third party advertising trackers and we do not build cross site profiles.

Processors we rely on

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, runs the database and provides the bot check. Request metadata passes through Cloudflare.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile verifies that a vote comes from a person. Turnstile issues a token for that check.

Selling data

We do not sell personal data. If we publish or license community insight in the future, it is aggregate sentiment only, never individual records.

Retention and your rights

Vote records are kept as long as the poll history is useful, because removing them would falsify the historical curve. Since a vote carries no identifying data, it cannot be traced back to a person.

If you believe we hold something about you and you want it removed, write to hello@versus4.fun and describe what you are asking for. Last updated 24 August 2026.
